You don’t have to be computer savvy to make your own website. I will take you step by step through the process of making a new site.
First go to GoDaddy or any other place to buy domains and put in the name you want for your site right there on the homepage. There will be a box to type in your idea of the name of your site. Many names are already taken so throw in a word that will make your site unique and available. Once you find a site that is available you want to buy it. Don’t fall for all of the up-sales they will throw at you after you click purchase. Just skip them all and proceed to the checkout. If you don’t want people to know that you are the one that owns the site you will want to register it as a private domain.
Buying the domain is cheap, it will only cost about 8 dollars for a year. But you also have to have what is called a hosting account that will host your website.
You can do hosting through GoDaddy but there are cheaper hosting plans available. You will be looking at about 8 dollars a month for hosting. You can put multiple sites under one hosting account so it is well worth it to buy multiple domains.
Once you have your site bought and you have set up hosting you will want to go back to GoDaddy or wherever you bought your site and point your site at your hosting account. The hosting company will email you 2 numbers that start with NS, these are your name server numbers. You will copy and paste these into the place you bought your site from.
